Yuga Labs, creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, is launching a new NFT game, Project Dragon. This 3D action game is designed for large-scale team battles and will be available exclusively on Otherside, Yuga Labs’ metaverse gaming world. Set in the fictional city of Meetropolis, players are divided into two teams, Orange and Aqua, to engage in intense battles for Control Beacons scattered across the map. The objective is to deplete the opposing team’s beacon power to win. Meetropolis serves as a dynamic hub with various activities, including exploring mazes, relaxing on the beach, and capturing and defending control points.
The music starts with a cheerful Sims 4-like atmosphere to emphasise the good times before transitioning to intense battle scenes with fast-paced aggressive EDM beats and a fuzzed bass line. The sound design, influenced by Adult Swim cartoons, combines traditional cartoon effects with adult action cinema elements. As the visuals incorporate more digital glitches, the sound design mirrors this with increasing distortion and glitch effects, reflecting the chaos of late stage capitalism gone mad.
